With Ryan's workload and his preferred work hours, I have gotten used to counting time being 'near' each other as time 'together'. Which is weird... but at least his work station is adjacent to the living room, so we can converse and watch movies together and whatnot.
BUT we seem to be the exception. Every other guy that he works with has the same story of his wife/girlfriend feeling so deprived because they never get to be together without working. Most of the girls that I meet want to commisserate about how it makes them CRAZY that they never go out and that the guys are "home" but still not available.
But like you said, it's not so bad... and for me, I prefer the personal space and bit of distance.
